This Post was, obviously, named for its location.
The Post was Mustered with 18 Charter Members.
The first Post Commander was Spencer H. Blakely who enlisted on February 13, 1865 in Company B, 189th Ohio Infantry. He was mustered out on September 28, 1865 at Nashville, Tenn.
Following its formation, the Post met at the Courthouse. In 1920 they met at the Sons of Veterans Hall on Cresent Street. In 1921 they met at the Odd Fellows Hall at Sand Beach. Starting in 1922 they note meeting at a hotel, identified in 1931 as the Irwin Hotel on Main Street.
The last Post Commander was Calvin H. Foster who enlisted in Company D, 10th Michigan Infantry on March 30, 1864. He was mustered out on July 19, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky.
The Post was disbanded in 1932.
