Eaton Rapids, Island Park

his memorial cannon facing north down the Grand River on Island Park is mounted on an iron framework and sits on a concrete base measuring 7 feet long and 4 feet wide. The gun is a 4.2-inch experimental Parrott Rifle that is slimmer that others and weighs 3610lbs. The cannon was cast at the West Point Foundry in New York and was previously located at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. It made its way to the island sometime in the early 1900
