Maple Rapids

This monument rests in the Soule Cemetery on Island Rd., south of Maple Rapids. The memorial consists of a nine-foot marble pillar set on a limestone base. It was erected in 1884 by the Billy Begole Post No. 127 and their friends. Carved on the sides of the pillar are the names of thirty-eight veterans and members of Post 127, some with the regiment in which they served.
